The proposed itinerary was suitable and highly relevant to our current syllabus. I do appreciate all your effort in helping us to tweak the programme to suit our needs. The search for a suitable stretch of river for us to do hydrology fieldwork as well as your effort in helping us ascertain the river’s depth and safety as you waded into the icy cold water were much appreciated. The joint effort with the BIC to do a field sketch of the granitic landform at Lonehill was just awesome as students of different culture could learn together via a common platform. E-mail and face book addresses were shared and new friendships forged.

I can tell that you really wanted our group to experience the best of what South Africa and what Africa has to offer! To sum up, the whole experience has undoubtedly surpassed my personal expectations. I have been enriched both educationally as well as psychologically – it was food for the mind and soul. Kudos to you, Richard and Brian!

The whole experience of the trip has been a very enriching and fulfilling one. The accommodation and service standards were impeccable especially for the Cavern’s experience. Everyone was treated to a 5 star service standard at the restaurant!

~ Jonathon Ng, Nanyang Junior College (Singapore)

Lovie went all out to meet our requests and even more and this made our virgin experiences in South Africa very positive. Richard’s wealth of knowledge and experience was very much appreciated by the students and enhanced their learning greatly.

Of The Cavern: The experience at the Cavern was especially meaningful for me as the staff was warm in every way. And the food there was really good. The food was the highlight of my stay there! Even the cookies and the tea that the staff brought along for us after the river studies were delicious!

Of Airport Game Lodge: The food was awesome iand the service was great!

Of Die Towerpot Traditional South African Welcome Dinner: The food we had and the interaction with those who cooked the meals for us was especially interesting as we got to see the manifestation of migrant culture in South African. Hopefully the students saw that as well.

Thanks for your good planning. The African Bush & Rock Spa Experience was a wonderful and unforgettable experience. The Boma Bush Dinner was another star event and the Pilanesberg Game Drives were very good.

~ Francis Neo, Great Eastern (Singapore)

Every one must go South Africa at least for once in their lifetime. This is where having a good guide, well planned out program is very IMPORTANT. African Trailblazers meet and exceeds the expectations of a real African Tour. Strongly Recommended.

~ Nicholas Tan, Great Eastern (Singapore)

All the programmes were interesting and memorable. The safari was an eye-opener – to get upclose to the animals was a very surreal experience for me. I didn’t realise what an amazing country SA is in terms of its natural terrain and unique attractions. I had a wonderful impression of the country even from day one.

The mountain trekking was very enjoyable and the cultural performances were very energetic and entertaining. I didn’t know much about the Zulu culture prior to the trip. Now I’m totally fascinated. The cradle of mankind’s exhibits were also very well-thought-out and brilliant. Overall, the trip was incredibly memorable – two thumbs up!

I wouldn’t hesitate to use African Trailblazers again – and recommend the tour operator to my friends. The guides alongside the hosts were all very informative and helpful. South African guides are well-versed and knowledgeable about nature, culture, history and many other aspects. They are also quite entertaining during the trip – definitely would recommend to other people.

The Zulu experience at Stewart’s Farm as well as Shakaland was an eye opener but what blew me away was the modernity of the Cradle Of Humankind as well as Maropeng, which I mentioned will remove any myths in Singaporeans that South Africa is “backward”.

I would [take up or recommend the tour packages of similar experiences from this programme to friends and associates] as I believe it would open up their minds and perceptions on South Africa as a country. It definitely did change my perception of Africa being a barren desert and the climate was a welcome relief as well.

The trip has probably spurred me on to revisit the country in the future to further explore and capture its wildlife on camera as well as embark on a golfing trip, that’ll be two separate trips though.

“An opportunity to meet with my soul again in Africa” Thank you! Phil, we enjoyed your bush knowledge, your hospitality and your incredible easy going ‘unphasable’ attitude, thank you so much! Take Care!

~Holly, Sheldon, Lorraine, Mieke, Liesel (Waterfront, Cape Town, South Africa)

There are few places on earth that can be described as medicine for the soul. Nolangeni Wild is such a place. The fact that I cannot resist visiting it every time, I travel the N2 from JHB to DBN proves it. It is people that make a place what it is though. Phil, Celia, Lauren and Stephanie have a rare knack of keeping the haven of Nolangeni Wild alive.
